mohammad arju

মাহবুব মোর্শেদ আমাদের লেখক। On the surface, ওনার উপন্যাস 'তোমারে চিনি না আমি' মনে হবে যেন একটা memoir of a 'lost' generation; a story of the pursuit of leisure and happiness into non-conformist sexuality by arguably 'progressive' and politically active youth of the nineties. The protagonists, both females, and males, often make non-compelling arguments about 'emancipating sexuality from love' and the dangers of not doing so.
But, I have tried to explore, to some extents irrational reasons for the novel's appeal. In my reading, on the contrary, this an unsparing novel harsh on love and politics. It's a manifesto for the millennials why they are right about getting rid of sex and getting more into 'immoral' politics. This is a manifesto for our time- our apocalyptic boredom- where sex doesn't make sense anymore.
